Newsletter October 2011

The Sponsored Circuit event went brilliantly and the club raised a grand total of £1480.16!!!! This was made up of £1254 sponsor money, £31 from entries, £80.16 from the home baking stall and £115 from the raffle. An absolutely fantastic effort by everyone who took part or helped out on the day so we would once again like to say a big thank you!! The new club training jackets have now been ordered so everyone who took part in the event or anyone who ordered jackets should have them soon.
Guess Tigger’s Birthday – there are still plenty dates available in the diary so anyone who hasn’t had a go see Tracey. It’s only 50p a guess!!!
Some of the parents and students from the Longridge class did bag packing in the Co-Op in Whitburn in September and this raised £300 for club funds – not bad for 5hrs work!! Again, a big thanks to all who supported club for that event.
Our next event is another day bag packing on Sun 4th Dec, this time in Morrisons at The Gyle. We should hopefully do really well at this event as it’s close to Xmas so the shop should be busy, but we can only do it with your help. Any adult members, kids and parents who would be able to volunteer even just a couple of hours of their time from 9am onwards should give their names to Tracey or a committee member asap, or you can email your name and time you can come to All kids must be accompanied by an adult. This is our last push at fundraising for this year so we would greatly appreciate everyone’s support as we are trying to raise enough money for new training mats for the classes.

The adults xmas dinner and Lady GaGa tribute night is on Sat 10th Dec and should be a fantastic night – a chance for everyone to get together socially and let their hair down. The final balance of £15.00 needs to be paid to Tracey by 25th Nov to guarantee your place.
The kids bowling night is on Sun 11th Dec and anyone who would still like to go should give their name and money to Tracey or Lisa – remember the club is subsidising this outing so it will only cost you £5.
There will be a large number of kids at this outing so any adult help on the night will be much appreciated.

Any student who would still like to take part in the Azami Kata competition on Sun 6th Nov should give their entry form and fee to Tracey asap. This competition will be a good place for kids competing for the first time to compete in more familiar surroundings and also support their own club.
