Scottish Championships 2009

Congratulations to Kate Holligan from Azami Karate Group who won a bronze medal at the Scottish All-Styles Karate Championships.

Dan Grading

Congratulations to Robert Hinton and Liz Quinlan who achieved the grade of 1st Dan black belt and to John Wilson who achieved the grade of 2nd dan.

European Wado Cup

The 37th European Wado Cup was held in Edinburgh and 6 students from azami karate group were selected to represent Scotland at the event: Kate Holligan, Robert Hinton, Andrew Green, William Newey, Stephanie Whitelaw and Lisa Rogers. Kate won a bronze medal in the girls 12 to 13 years kata. Stephanie won a silver medal in the female 16 to 17 years +60kg kumite and was a member of the female 16 to 17 years team which won gold. Lisa won a bronze medal in the senior female -55kg kumite and was a member of the female senior team which won bronze. Instructor Peter Rogers is extremely pleased with the performance of the students. He would also like to thank the Bobby, John and Tracey, who along with himself helped officiate on the day.

European Wado Cup

Congratulations to Kate Holligan, Robert Hinton, Andrew Green and Lisa Rogers who have all been selected to represent Scotland for kata at the forthcoming European wado cup. Lisa has also been selected for fighting.

Academy Kata Championships

Irish Open

Lisa Rogers from Azami Karate Group won gold in both the Female Senior Team Kumite and the Female Senior -55kg Kumite Category at the Irish International Open Championships.

Grangemouth Junior Open

Congratulations to Kate Holligan from Azami Karate Group who won a 3rd place trophy at the Grangemouth Junior Open Karate Championships.

British Championships

Lisa Rogers won a bronze medal in the -55kg female senior kumite and a silver medal in the female senior team. Kirsty Grant won a silver medal in the girls 7-9 years team, whilst Dylan Forrester won a silver medal in the boys 7-9 years team.

SKF Teams for British

Congratulations to Dylan Forrester, Kirsty Grant, Kate Holligan and Lisa Rogers from Azami Karate Group who have been selected to represent the Scottish Karate Federation at the forthcoming British Karate Championships in the team events.

New Club at Currie

Azami Karate Group is openning a new club at Currie on Wednesday 19th August 2009. The classes for children will be held in the Gibson Craig Hall from 4pm-5pm on Wednesdays.
